I was stressing over what super important and relevant and interesting things I could blog about when my wildly intelligent and attractive friend told me to just blog about what is happening in my life AT THIS VERY MOMENT.
Run on sentences: happening at this very moment.
And also house-hunting.
You guys, house-hunting in Houston (and probably other places) is a lot of work! We have been looking with a realtor for less than two weeks now and I've already logged ten hours in the car driving to and from potential homes.
Two days ago, my husband found a house online that he was really interested in. It was not my dream house. When I see a house I love, my brain immediately starts customizing it. My eyes demolish walls, reference pinterest, hang open shelving in the kitchen, apply paint and voila - home, sweet home. When I saw this house.... nothing. Nothing except hire someone to remove the dead, dehydrated lizards hanging out in the formal dining room.
But we are a team! And my savvy husband saw this home as a great investment opportunity. It was listed for $100k, while similar homes in the area were selling for $250-340k. So even though it was nowhere near what I expected to buy - we jumped on the opportunity and made an offer before the 4PM deadline.
They took a cash offer. Womp, womp.
So we are still house hunting! But, guess what?! We checked off another item on the HOLY CRAP WE ARE ADULTS LIST: We made an offer on a house and electronically signed dozens of pages of intimidating paperwork. And we didn't even break a sweat.
